Hayden Panettiere fulfilled her on-screen duties in real life yesterday - by warning a photographer about the dangers of (a) pot.

Celebrity news site TMZ was on hand, at Robertson Blvd., yesterday as the actress and her hot mom did some shopping for a dress for Hayden to wear on her forthcoming appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman.

As the paparazzi walked backwards, lobbing questions along her way, Hayden Panettiere suddenly started yelling “Pot! Pot!” and pointed ahead.

No, there wasn’t any, um, Mary Jane on the sidewalk (so to speak), but a planting pot holding some threatening bushes - that one photographer was dangerously close to toppling over.

Having saved the day, the super Hayden Panettiere then flew away … in a hot new Porsche Cayenne.

Great actress.

You can describe Hayden Panettiere in many ways, but don’t forget to add this one to the list: nice older sister.

Hayden Panettiere, ever the fashion queen, was spotted by People spending over an hour poring over the latest trends at Harmony Lane in L.A. The Heroes star showed a deep affinity for metallic clothing and left with a gold shimmer and bronze dress by Fighting Eel and a Karen Zambos shrug in gold.

She also did well in the accessory department - scoring headbands, colorful bracelets and a key charm necklace from Vita. For an upcoming event, Hayden Panettiere purchased a long butterfly print dress from Voom by Joy Han.

Oh yeah, and Rumer Willis was there too. Guess they’re friends. That or Hayden thought she had bumped into Weird Al Yankovic for a sec. LOL!
