Hayden Panettiere: Her First Song!

It’s good to see that unlike, say, Britney Spears, some singers’ career prospects are actually looking up nowadays.

Hayden Panettiere, who’s looking to branch out into music (she’s been singing live at various events) in addition to acting, has a new single in the works!

It’s typical pop-rock cheesiness, but in the end, not half bad. The lyrics begin with “So many memories of you and me, like the time we drove to the O.C. …”

Hayden is a Singer, Too!

It’s enough to bring a tear to one’s eye. Okay, not really.

But we’re pumped up for Hayden Panettiere’s song just the same! Wonder if it will be a hit. We hope so! It’s called “Your New Girlfriend” and we’ll be posting more information about it when we come across it.

Hayden Panettiere to Join “Band From TV” This Weekend

Heroes cheerleader Hayden Panettiere, who is also a budding singer, will make a guest appearance with fellow cast member Greg Grunberg’s all-star Band From TV this weekend, People reports.

“I sang with them at the wrap party for our show,” Panettiere, 17, said Tuesday at a party in L.A. celebrating Heroes and the rest of NBC’s fall season.

“I saw them and said, ‘Anytime you guys want me to perform with you, I’m totally up for it.’ ”

Panettiere, who has a debut album on the way and recently made headlines with her performance at the July 4 concert in Washington, D.C., will take the stage with Grunberg and his fellow actor-musicians on Saturday in Orange County, Calif. at California State-Fullerton.

This special Hayden Panettiere performance will follow the Orange County Flyers’ minor league baseball game.

The Band From TV is a rock cover band featuring the aforementioned Grunberg on drums, Desperate Housewives‘ James Denton on guitar, House’s Hugh Laurie on piano and both The Bachelor star Bob Guiney and Kitchen Confidential actress Bonnie Somerville on vocals.

All the proceeds from the Band From TV’s concerts and upcoming CD and DVD projects go directly to charity.

For her part, she may be an actress by trade, but Hayden Panettiere will jump at any chance to practice singing onstage.

“I have terrible stage fright and [with an album coming out] I’ll need to go on tour at some point, so I need to practice,” she said.

How serious is Hayden Panettiere’s stage fright?

“The Fourth of July performance in Washington, D.C., was so nerve-wracking that I’m surprised I even made it on stage,” she admits.

But Greg Grunberg laughed off Panettiere’s claims.

“Give me a break,” he said. “She just played in front of like 500,000 people!”

This weekend’s audience is expected to be closer to 5,000.

“That’s like the biggest audience we’ve played. It’s really exciting,” he says. “We’re going to do a whole set, then [Hayden Panettiere] is going to do two amazing songs.”

Tickets are $20 and still available at orangecountyflyers.com. Wondering what, exactly, will Hayden Panettiere sing?

“I’m singing Meredith Brooks’ ‘Bitch,’ and then I’m singing Alanis Morissette’s ‘Ironic,’” she says. “It’ll be fun!”

Hayden Panettiere Sings Live!

When Hayden Panettiere made her live singing debut at the Capitol Fourth concert in Washington D.C. on July 4, she more than held her own.

She’s halfway decent! And to think. For the popular Heroes actress, live singing in concert isn’t even her day job. Way to give it your best, girl!
